With the warm Summer of 2022 and my husband recovering from an accident, our lounge was extremely warm and uncomfortable hence the reason for looking at an air conditioning system. As a business owner myself, I have a small portable air conditioning unit in my premises, however, this would not be suitable in my home due to the pipe sticking out of a window.
After some research and a site visit from the surveyor, we got a clear explanation of how the units would operate and the savings in our energy bills. We opted for two Panasonic units, one downstairs and one on the landing which is actually sufficient for our 3-bedroomed property.
To begin with, the best location for the external unit was chosen. An external side wall was ideal. Fairly out of site, well-ventilated and easily accessible for maintenance, with enough clearance for air flow.
The external unit was installed on a raised level surface, using vibration isolators to minimise noise and prevent the unit from shifting. The refrigerant lines were connected and the electrical wiring from the outdoor unit was fed to the indoor unit. This part of the installation is essential to get spot on so as to avoid leaks, electrical issues, or voiding the manufacturer’s warranty.
This installation required an upstairs unit installed on the landing wall, and a downstairs unit which was fitted in a tiny area underneath the stairs in the downstairs lounge. Refrigerant lines were connected to each unit.
The 2 internal units then offered complete coverage for the house. Because air-to-air systems use fan units to provide the heating and cooling, it is a really fast and efficient way to heat and cool any room.
Switching from heating to cooling will typically take around 10 minutes.
The Panasonic remote control with this system is really comprehensive and allows you to monitor energy usage, schedule your heating and cooling and lots more.
The Panasonic Comfort Cloud App offers another level on top though and allows you to control your system from anywhere.
To say we are pleased is an understatement having had the Winter with NO gas central heating on and a summer with air conditioning is a blessing. Thank you
Andrea, Homeowner
